Writing a blurb about yourself can be a difficult assignment. My name is Chris Carpenter. I am President of Carpe Multimedia, LLC.
PROFESSIONAL
I am a 1996 graduate of Wabash College. I continue to serve the college as a Class Agent; having won the Robert L. Mitchum award twice in the last 10 years for serving in that capacity. Following Wabash, I spent three years in seminary. My career has seen 8 years of technical project management experience in the manufacturing sector. The last several years have been spent in technical writing, graphic design, multimedia development and training. The focus of my career has essentially been on information structuring and sharing in a pursuit of efficiency; in short, I would say that collectively my jobs have served to make other peoples' jobs easier. Now I spend my time using a broad mix of experiences to understand a person's story and turn it into something that can enhance their lives.
SOFTWARE
I'm a nerd, through and through. I pick up software and learn it. The software formerly known as Macromedia is a mainstay for me, and it's new owner, Adobe, is also in my quiver. The creative design suites (video and still) in each are pretty special. I do web design in Dreamweaver and Flash, and I do video production in Adobe Premier Pro, Audition, Encore, and After Effects. For still image production, I'm really a big fan of Photoshop and Illustrator. More important than what I use, though, is the where I go for ideas. The secret to understanding the software in which you are working is to pull from the information that others have posted on the web. In that respect, the knowledge pool out there is simply staggering.
PERSONAL
I'm a family guy. I was married in Y2K, have a wonderful wife and daughter, and a small dog. Above all, I am devoted to God. |
